China

It’s been quite a while since I last posted but it has been a very busy year and I will try to catch up shortly.

Earlier in the year we visited China, somewhere I had always wanted to photograph. It was a great trip and I really enjoyed taking pictures of the Chinese people who were extremely friendly, despite the language barrier. The Chinese spend a lot of their time outside and the streets are always busy, with lots of activities from cooking to dancing. I tried to capture some of this in my pics. Here are seven as a taster but you can view more here.

  1. Some great photos! How do you get them to pose or do you speak Chinese?

  2. Hi Claire, thanks for that.

Unfortunately I don’t speak Chinese, all the pictures are natural. The people were extremely friendly and happy to be photographed. I just pointed at them, then the camera and smiled – most of the time they would nod and if they didn’t I just smiled again, waved and walked away. I had a wonderful time there and hope that I will get back someday.

  4. Hi Diana,

Yes, an amazing place. I know they still do cormorant fishing for the tourists at least.
